1984

This George Orwell classic revolves around Winston Smith, a citizen from Oceania whom works in the Department of Truth. The story follows Winston's façade of being an average citizen that believes in the mysterious figure only known as 'Big Brother' whom is the leader of 'The Party' (the ruling power of Oceania, much like capitalism) while inwardly rebelling against the totalitarian world that controls the citizens through the telescreens and the Thought Police. At first he starts a diary but after he starts a secret love affair with a fellow co-worker, things go off track...
This book had more than 250 pages, so it classifies as 2 books.

Virals

This is a very interesting book. It is a mystery/susppense type.

It starts out with the main characters, Tory, Shelton, Hi, and Ben, on Loggerhead island, a science research facility, finding an old dog tag thrown at them by a wild monkey. They sneak in to the facility to decode it, and they find out that it belongs to an Frank Heaton. Inside, they find a wolf-dog, apprently infected with a new disease and being experimented on. They decide to take him home. after doing some research, they discover that Frank and his daugter, Katherine, are both dead. However, Tory realises that Katherine may be buried on Loggerhead. When they arrive however, men start shooting at them, and they barely manage to escape. Also, they are experiencing 'flashes'- sensations which enhance a sense or attribute eg. sight, strength. They have to struggle with thier flases, as well as try and find out the truth behind Katherine's murder.

I really like this book, it is good, and it is surprising and vfull of twists. I would reccomend this book for anybody. 9/10

Skullduggery Pleasent Mortal Coil

This is the 5th book in the SKulduggery Pleasent series, and kind of thriller/horror/detective type series.

The story starts when remnants, evil body possessing spirits, escape from thier prison in the midnight hotel, and start moving to Valkyrie Cain, the main character. As she, and her friends try to escape, Valkrie has a secret she has kept from the rest of the world- she is Darquesse, the person who will destro the world. She sets out to find a way to seal her destiny, while Skulduggery, her teacher and a skeleton detective, try to track Davina Marr, a woman who destroyed the headquarters.

I really like this book. It is fast paced, exciting, and has lots of suspense and dramatic changes. The only thing I dislike is that the aouhour keeps killing too many major or semi- important characters. 9/10

Know The Game Baseball and Softball

This book has a great and clear introduction explaining what baseball is, it's origin and the fundamentals of the game.

The book has pictures and diagrams to back up the explaining texts and facts which is very easy to understand and helpful. They also explain the keywords uses in baseball in details and the rules as well as different positions. They introduce us to the equipment that are used in a baseball game and further details on the object, such as how are they being used and what are they used for. Where do the players stand and each different player's role. Along with the rules explanation part there were examples of that rule occurring in the game to make it easier for the reader to understand. There were also an explanation of offensive teams and defensive ones. How does the defensive team defend and how does offensive team score points. The book also contain a list of skills used in a baseball game and in which situation were they used.

I used to like baseball a lot but because baseball wasn't present in Vietnam so I didn't the chance to learn more about this sport. However this book explains to me a lot about the sport, including the rules and techniques. This book has encouraged me to play baseball and come to like it. If you are interested in baseball, I'm recommending this book to you.
